It's a GIRL!

Russ and I are thrilled to announce that we are having a baby girl, Campbell King (no middle name yet!). Our ultrasound was yesterday morning and with both of our mothers in tow, we saw our sweet little girl. She was quite the active one...the ultrasound technician said she would not stop to have her picture taken. She was also not at all modest...letting all her parts show for the world to see!

We are ecstatic to be having a daughter, although within minutes Russ went through a wide spectrum of emotions and worries (she's going to have boyfriends, I'm going to have to walk her down the aisle, I'm going to be a softy for her).

It was a beautiful moment and we can't wait to meet her in May!

Beautiful Chaos

The past two weeks have been the most blessed, chaotic weeks we have experienced in a long time. First of all, we moved into our first house the weekend after Thanksgiving. What an incredible blessing, and evidence of God's abundant provision. After years of apartment living (and half a year of living with my parents) we are thrilled to be home owners! Of course we could not have picked a worse day to move...it poured all day...but we have the most incredible family who got the job done nevertheless!

The next Saturday we took a day trip to Austin to help our good friends, Chris and Cassidy Rogers, move from Nacogdoches. They got in a bad wreck about a month and a half ago, and Chris is still hobbling around on crutches. Not to mention, of course, that Cassidy is seven months pregnant with Miss Caeleigh Anne Rogers. Between a "crippled" husband and a pregnant wife, they definitely needed some help moving! It was a good chance to catch up, and great to see old friends.

We drove back from Waco late that Saturday night and early the next morning my best friend, Nikki, called me to tell me she was FINALLY in labor with the sweet baby girl we have all been anticipating. Back into the car we went, up to Waco. We waited all day, and Miss Eleanor was finally born via C-Section late Sunday night.

Russ and I had to drive back for work the next day, so we waited all week in anticipation to go see Eleanor (and Nik and Jeremy, of course). This past Saturday we went back up to Waco to spend some time with our beloved friends and their beautiful new addition. My "niece" Eleanor is incredibly sweet, tiny, and beautiful, and Uncle "Russy" and I can't wait to watch her grow up!

We got back from Waco yesterday and today we got some more GREAT news. After a long road of prayer, preparation, and extremely hard work, my brilliant husband got offered a teaching job. He'll be starting in January at Hopper Middle School...literally five minutes from our house! We are so in awe of how God has so clearly called him to this new career and ministry and been so evidently at work in all the details.

In other news, we find out January 3rd whether "the kid" or "Pinto" is a boy or girl!

New Adventures, New Blog!

I would like to start by saying that this blog came about because of our good friend, Stephanie Shelton, who insisted that we absolutely MUST start a blog. While I have my doubts about whether this will be interesting to anyone besides like, my mom...here we go!


Life has been a whirlwind lately, as I started a new job about a month ago, we closed on our first house this week, and of course, we are three and a half months pregnant. We are moving this weekend after six months of living with my parents (thanks Mom and Dad...didn't think we would stay this long!)


Here's our latest ultrasound picture of Baby King. Only 5 weeks til we know if "it" is a "he" or "she"!
